Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The love of learning and the hunger to know are the most important things I can hope to inspire in my students. Before students can grasp complex content they need to be inspired to engage deeply and independently in their learning.
My students come to me filled with enthusiasm and curiosity about the world around them, ready to engage in deep learning.
I believe the best way for a five-year-old to learn is to play and explore. When students immerse themselves in authentic experiences their learning is deep and lasting.
My Project
Help give my students an overhead projector and neon message boards to use in their math and science investigations in the classroom. Students engage deeply in our classroom inquiries. We will use the overhead projector and message boards in our science and math inquiries in the classroom to write and project our learning as we present our work to our peers. We will use the books and ink to research and then create our own writing about numbers and science concepts. We will print our learning in books to share in our classroom library and we will use the magnifying glasses to more closely observe our environment.
