Hands-on exploration in kindergarten engages all students on their educational journey. The ability to use quality materials to help children synthesize their classroom learning is proven to be effective and long-lasting. Children can and do integrate learning into exploration areas when given the opportunity. They write recipes, invitations, lists, stories, maps, problems, notes and plans for future work. They write entire books about the things that interest them. They create and retell the stories they have heard .They work through problems in a safe way. By setting up physical provocations students can access new ideas at whatever stage they are in their learning. Play should not be what happens when the work is done, it is the way to real learning for young children. The expression of children's learning is most complex when students are actively involved in creating then solving problems in a hands-on way.
