Help me give my students a Silhouette Cameo bundle so that they can create original designs. Also, the Breakout EDU bundle that I can use to intrigue students with any content by turning it into a game.
As the library media specialist, I see all of the students. Although we are a Title I school, we have students of varying socioeconomic status due to where our school is located. They also vary in their interests and reading levels. I have to find innovating and exciting ways to hook my students to want to read for the sake of reading and not because it's required. I spend a lot of time trying to foster a love of reading with my students by trying to make the media center a welcoming place.
My students are a wonderful group of inquisitive students who are in need of resources of all kinds, including traditional and technological resources.
They would benefit from print and non print resources that are up to date and can engage them as a learner.
I also spend a lot of time collaborating with teachers to help them make their lessons more interesting by integrating literacy and technology.
My Project
Our school encourages our students to learn through problem based learning. Through problem based learning, students need to find answers and end with a project. The Silhouette Cameo is another tool that the students can use to create something. Instead of their ideas being on paper or in their heads, they will be able to make it on their own. Students will truly be able to see the fruits of their labor.
Students need to be hooked by hands on products and by activities.
The Breakout EDU bundle would make the students go through a process of problem solving and collaboration based on any content area. The escape room concept will grab the student's attention and make them want to learn and actively participate more.
Through hands on learning, problem solving, and teamwork, students will have skills that they can use to help them in their educational path.
