My Students

We are a seaside community that has been impacted by Hurricane Harvey. Our island town doesn't have a single home that was left undamaged. Many of my students homes are still uninhabitable almost a year after the storm.

We thought that restarting school would add a sense of normalcy to the chaos that permeates our students' lives.

In some ways it has.

One of the things I've noticed since we've restarted is that our kids are dealing with more than we ever expected.

My Project

Walking through an elementary school, one sees work displayed in the hall everywhere. It instills a sense of pride in students when they see their work is out there for everyone to see. Purchasing these racks will enable the high school to showcase student work all over the school. Just because students change and grow from school to school doesn't mean that our students don't enjoy seeing what their classmates are doing. Being on display for everyone to see motivates those who barely do the minimum to go above and beyond, knowing everyone will see it.

Helping build up our students is our number one priority.

Producing quality, stellar work is one way to help build them up.
