Help me give my students the critical and most informative resource at their fingertips. Instead of the "Internet search" I want my students to know how to find and discover words and meanings without excuses.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
Please help my class have the ability to “find words” using dictionaries. They have no sense in looking for words learning on their own. They want the teacher to “tell them." Without searching and examining- parts of speech, how the word is pronounced, and its meaning.
So quickly they want results from “Google” or “Alexa.”
I’ve requested dictionaries from parents, without results. The cost for my 29 students takes a good chunk from the very limited class budget. I very much appreciate any help.
I have found the students enjoy looking up new words and with the few dictionaries we do have, a few have created a game they termed - "pair share, find the word before me, I dare!"
Please, help me help them learn the true process of " investigation and researching words! It will help them become better readers and writers.
