This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students have challenges with reading. They are not keeping up with their grade level peers. Because my students have been identified for having significant reading deficiencies, they qualify for reading intervention.

The ability to read is the most important gift we can give our students for their futures.

Research proves it. Students who can't read at grade level by the end of third grade are more likely to leave school without a diploma compared to their peers who have become proficient readers.

My Project

Reading is such an important skill elementary students learn in school! Graduation, college and career preparedness are more likely for proficient readers.

The students I provide interventions for have significant reading deficiencies and so are on reading to ensure academic proficiency (or READ) plans with the goal of reading at grade level by the time they leave third grade.

My students need fresh reading material every day to practice the new skills they're developing, while rereading texts to master fluency. New books will inspire their curiosity and enthusiasm to become proficient readers. Thank you for supporting early literacy with my precious young readers!
