I teach at a Title I school in the fifth largest district in Illinois. This means a large percentage of students who attend my school come from low income families. This is my second year teaching the third grade honors class. These students qualified for an accelerated program because they are the top 10% of their peers of the entire school district. I have a large class this year that is full of dreamers, thinkers, engineers and innovators, but perhaps most importantly, these students LOVE to learn!
This group of kids makes coming to work every day fun and exciting; I do it with a smile.
These students are extremely kind, thoughtful, passionate, inquisitive and slightly competitive. They challenge each other (and me) daily. We have amazing conversations in an environment that we built together, where everyone feels safe and respected. They are our future and I want to give them a great start to their educational journey.
This laminator will make a difference in our classroom because I will be able to take the students' best work from the year and laminate it for safe keeping.
When students know that their work will be saved and shared with family members, they tend to work to their full potential!
I still have my "grade school book" from when I was in elementary school with fading papers that I can hardly read. With our own laminator in the classroom, I can preserve student work to last a lifetime. Not only that but laminating work keeps student work safe and will make student portfolios even more amazing!
