Long Distance Learning

My Students

My class is comprised of 25 amazing students with varying special needs including autism, global developmental delays and typical peers. We have been long distance learning since March 16 and the current projection is we will remain long distance teaching through the rest of the school year. I also teach summer school which is projected to be online as well. Many of my students need accommodations made across their day in order for them to be successful. This includes using a wide variety of engaging materials, clear organized play areas, error-less learning materials and materials leveled for a wide variety of needs. My students require a high level of prompting in order to learn skills that will lead to independence.

Each of these students has their own unique needs and ways of learning but they have one thing in common: the need to be successful.

My Project

Each of my students require their own set of materials geared towards them to help them learn. With these materials I will be able to provide individualized lessons that they can independently engage in. The boom cards can be assigned directly to each student to meet their needs. I will be able to mail packets of no-prep worksheets to students in order for them to continue working on their goals.

These materials will allow me to continue teaching my students when they can't physically come to school.

Using these eLearning materials will help each of my students continue to move forward academically. Having these resources will afford my students fresh, new digital lessons to help keep learning fun.

In addition, these resources will help me streamline my workflow and keep students engaged in their work. Most of the activities are interactive and self monitoring. I want to do everything I can to help my students achieve at the highest level possible, and I believe these activities will help me do that.
