Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our students will be embarking on a multi-week world leaders project in which they not only learn all about biographies, but become experts on one world leader who inspires them. They research and write about this person, prepare a speech about him/her, and participate as that person, in our culminating project, the Living History Museum.

The students work so hard and are so excited to become their chosen person, to be in character and be able to showcase this leader they admire.

All of our students prepare a presentation, regardless of whether they struggle with reading and writing, are learning in a second language, or have learning differences. We support everybody in participating as part of our community. They wear costumes and use props to enhance their performances and each has a presentation board they create as part of their performance. The art supplies and boards we are requesting will help to make our museum a success by allowing every child to have their own presentation board and the materials needed to make it a beautiful part of their presentation.
