My Students
My students are imaginative and inquisitive kids. They come from low-income households and have not had much experience with the world outside their small community. Many of my students are living in small apartments with many family members and this quarantine has been an especially difficult hardship for them and their families.
I have a class of 25 eight-year-olds who enjoy our lessons most when they include technology.
They love to go to computers and look up information to use in their writing. With this additional technology I will be able to work remotely with my students. Throughout remote learning, they have been excited about learning and love to watch videos posted to our Google classroom and especially love our live sessions.
My Project
This Macbook will allow me to properly assist my students with their remote learning and keep up with the live sessions that they so often request. This technology will keep me online and allow me to be able to teach my students without technology issues.
On too many occasions I am unable to assist my students in learning because my current computer fails on me.
My current computer is 11 years-old and I have spent too many hours freezing, buffering, loading and crashing.... it creates so much wasted time, time I could be recording, posting, and teaching my curious scholars.
As we are heading into a remote and/or blended learning this fall and beyond, it is clear that the proper resources are needed to continue to teach in the 21st century.
