This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students I serve are Freshmen entering High school for the first time. Due to these unprecedented times, their first year is a lot different from what they expected. All of my students attend a Title I school located in a low socio-economic demographic area stricken by poverty and crime. Many of them receive services to assist them with mild/moderate learning disabilities. Despite all of the challenges they are facing, I tell them every day, their environment and disability DO NOT define them or what they will become. They are all destined to be great.
My Project
These materials will enable students to conduct live lab experiments. Students will be able to interact with one another and be totally engaged in Biological experiments under the close supervision of their Biology teacher and me, the Biology Inclusion teacher. This is the first year our school has been blessed with fully-functional working Science Labs.
All of these students have not had the opportunity to conduct a hands-on lab experiment nor have had the experience of being in a lab.
This project will provide that life-changing opportunity for them. This will impact these students' educational experience and influence their future educational choices.
We are inspiring future Biologists and future Scientists who may find the cure for this horrible Coronavirus. Please help save our future!
