My Students
I teach in an urban district to students who participate in a free breakfast and lunch program. Many of my students come from single-parent homes and have a difficult time just bringing in school supplies. Many of these students have to help take care of their siblings both before and after school while their parent is working or attending school.
My students are from a variety of backgrounds and have various learning styles.
My classroom is made up of both regular and special education students. They often come into school eager to learn, and they love to use technology.
Many of my students read below grade level. They would benefit from a variety of classroom resources to help increase their success in school. I want my students to be informed citizens and be able to have the use of technology in the classroom on a daily basis. I want my students to have technology experiences that help foster 21st-century critical thinkers.
My Project
I am trying to create fun learning experiences in our classroom this year. Bringing LIVE news broadcasts will be a fun addition to learning throughout the year and this professional lighting kit with a green screen backdrop along with a tripod mount for an iPad will help bring our learning alive. I hope that these news broadcasts will also help with leadership skills and self esteem. Students will be able to be creative with their backdrops and take their viewers to fun places.
Green screen projects allow students to discuss, evaluate, and reflect on their learning using digital skills and their own personality which will help improve both academics and communication skills.
I hope to have a news crew that will engage with their peers and adults in the school to bring learning alive. This will give students opportunities to expressive themselves with many projects such as storytelling, current events, weather reports, video tutorials, and much more. The possibilities are endless!
