My Students

Fourth grade is always an adventure! We never know where our learning will take us. In our room, we're always looking for ways to meet the learning styles of kinesthetic, visual, audio, and logical learning. By the end of the school year, I want my students to see the value of learning something new and embrace the love of lifelong learning.

Our class is made up of 24 kind, creative students who are eager to learn new material.

This year, my students have really worked towards persevering through difficult tasks. This is our favorite quote: "Be like a postage stamp, stick to something until you get there!" - Josh Billings.

My Project

We are crossing our fingers that our newest "classmate" will be a LittleBits creation, the magnetic Bits snap together to form a circuit. Each Bit is an electronic building block. I believe that coding is a necessary skill in the 21st century and my fourth graders are excited to embrace this learning.

My students will think like an engineer as they program LittleBits into everything from cars to alarm clocks.

LittleBits would be the perfect addition to our makerspace. I can imagine my students tinkering away as they collaborate with their classmate on lighting, motion, and direction decisions. I believe that the addition of Littlebits to our room will inspire my students' young minds to embrace technology and computer science.
