My Students

Hello from the Sunshine state! We are fun-loving, information seeking, creative 2nd graders. We love to learn and explore our world of Reading and build our knowledge and vocabulary. We learn in a Title I school and our teacher does her best to provide rich-learning environments for us. Our teacher is always on the look out for something that will make learning fun and memorable! We hope you are interested in helping us learn and make great use of these exciting learning resources she's picked for us.

My Project

The truth is … this series may well inspire a new generation of animal scientists and conservationists. Chock-full of information and humorous comments, these books introduce little readers to a variety of animals. In keeping with the Florida Standards for reading informational text, there are many examples of nonfiction text features, such as text boxes, maps, and diagrams. There are also speech bubbles that have some funny comments and several opportunities to compare other animals. Scientific vocabulary is peppered throughout and will be helpful for developing language skills in younger readers. The artwork is cartoonish, which will be extremely appealing to budding readers.
