Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My first graders are learning much more than reading, writing, and math each day they are also learning how to be kind friends, solve problems, manage big emotions, and work together as a classroom community. To help them grow academically and socially, I am requesting materials that will support social-emotional learning, hands-on STEM exploration, and flexible learning spaces.

The books in this project will help students understand feelings, empathy, kindness, diversity, friendship, and emotional regulation.

Through engaging read-alouds and classroom discussions, students will learn valuable life skills such as recognizing emotions, showing compassion, respecting differences, and building positive relationships with others.

In addition to social-emotional learning resources, this project includes STEM building materials such as magnetic tiles, building blocks, LEGO bricks, engineering kits, and marble runs. These hands-on materials encourage creativity, problem-solving, teamwork, critical thinking, and perseverance. Students will use these resources during learning centers, indoor recess, and collaborative classroom activities.

The flexible seating stools, play carpet, writing tablets, and organizational supplies will help create a welcoming and engaging learning environment where students can comfortably learn, collaborate, and explore. The dry-erase markers and reusable writing tablets will provide opportunities for interactive lessons while reducing paper waste.

My goal is to create a classroom where every child feels valued, supported, and excited to learn. These materials will help foster kindness, emotional growth, creativity, and a love of learning that will benefit my students throughout the school year. Your support will directly impact the daily experiences of my first graders and help provide them with the tools they need to succeed both academically and socially.

Thank you for investing in our young learners and helping us build a classroom community where every child can thrive.
