My Students
My students are amazing! Their enthusiasm for reading is helping them grow on a daily basis! I would love to have a listening center to help them improve their reading skills. Hearing a story will help students learn to read in a fluid, expressive way.
A listening center will help students learn to sounds of words read without interruption, as well an important introduction to listening.
Hearing various narrators reading stories aloud, as well as the music and sound effects, can be motivating and intriguing for young children.
My Project
While my students love to listen to stories read aloud, I know the listening center materials will help provide a model for fluent reading. It will also help increase their fluency as they begin to read more and more words.
I would like to have the Best Buy Listening Center, storage center and read along library in my classroom to help improve students listening skills, reading skills and comprehension skills.
The more exposure students have to the written word, the more successful they will be as readers. My goal is to have them further develop their love of reading and books.
