This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our International School is committed to providing all students with academically rigorous experiences that include world language and a global perspective. STEAM (STEM with the arts infused) is an important part of our students’ daily work, ensuring they develop the 21st century skills that are needed to be successful in school and careers.

In our school’s Maker Space, our 400 (K-5) students have access to technology and a variety of materials that allow them to develop their ideas and work with classmates to solve problems.

Our school is an inner city, low income school. Our parents want the best for their children and put their trust in the teachers to educate their children.

My students deserve to have access to high level technology, that helps them develop skills and creativity. Our Maker Space provides my students with a space full of technology and room to create, and bring their ideas to life!

My Project

My students need to be able to hear the lesson when I present on the projector in my STEAM classroom. My presentation station did not come equipped with speakers and the set I found in storage is small and inadequate for providing quality sound as I present the lessons, using video to illustrate and explain.

Then, when my students go to their own computers, they need a mouse that fits their hands.

The mice the district provides are way too big for my Kindergarten, first and second graders to operate. The mice I chose for my students are small and color-coded, so when I want them to select an icon, I can tell them to click the blue clicker and they know just what to do.
