Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

Our school has a learning garden maintained by the students each year. Kindergarten through sixth-grade students help prepare, plan, and tend to the garden each spring and fall. They pull weeds from the raised flower beds and add mulch to the walking areas. They also plant, water, and harvest the food and flowers they grow. We need seed starter kits, a garden trellis, books and more to continue to grow our learning garden.

The items will help these little gardeners learn and expand our garden for everyone to enjoy!

The skills and food the students grow in the garden can be used and shared with their families and community.
