Little Engineers Need the Opportunity to Design and Build Too!
My students need these hands-on, durable design & build engineering centers which teach students to look closer at real-life designs and allow students to make their own original structures with the same elements.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an energetic, inquisitive and enthusiastic group of 26 five and six-year-olds in the inner city of Providence, Rhode Island. They are eager to learn to read and write and count to 100! My students are so appreciative of each other and all that we do every day. They are culturally diverse and enjoy sharing their own unique experiences with the class. We learn from each other every day. My school is working hard to build community among families and staff and we have a safe, respectful environment.
My Project
These hands-on design and build centers will make a HUGE impact on my students’ learning because the children will be challenged to find out “What makes a bridge strong?,” “How do vehicles roll, tow and carry things?,” and many more exciting big ideas! These centers are designed to encourage open ending building and collaborative problem solving. These manipulatives are made to last so students will be able to build , explore and engineer again & again! I would like to provide my students with a Maker Space for them to visit regularly and have many different options for practicing STEM skills and I definitely believe that these kits are an amazing way to provide the opportunity for all my students. Thank you so much for taking the time to find out more about our project!
