My Students

Has a book ever made you laugh so hard you cried? "Tales of the Fourth Grade Nothing" is that book. Please allow my students to experience this hilarious story! "The Cricket in Times Square" is a heart warming story that my students will love. Please allow them to fall in love with this book.

My students come from a rural area in Missouri.

They are eager to learn, but the teachers don't always have the means to provide the students with the necessary resources. The community is small and close knit. The school has three sections of each grade. The elementary building is home to the pre-school through sixth grade.

My Project

These literature sets will be used during the communication arts block during the school day. Literature sets are important because the student can see, hold, and even smell their very own book rather than opening a page in the basal reader. Vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension are all developed as students read the chapters of the story. Literature sets promote classroom discussion including important story events and how the students can relate to the characters in the story.

Reading is life skill all students need.

Every child has the right to read a fantastic story, be insipired, and develop a love for reading. These stories with help my students learn important reading skills for their future.
