Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students who learn to read in their native language generally learn to read more successfully in English. Whenever feasible, students will benefit from receiving reading instruction in their home language prior to receiving reading instruction in English.

The students are motivated learners who work hard every day to acquire the English language.

I would like to offer these determined students a diverse classroom library that not only promotes their native language literacy skills but also develops the confidence to build their literacy skills in the English language. These books will support students for many years to come.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
