Literature Circles... Where Collaboration, Critical Thinking and the Curriculum Unite!

Help me give my students sets of books that will help them collaborate, express their ideas and make connections to our language arts program through literature circles.

My Project

The chapter books from this project will be used to enhance our language arts curriculum through literature circles. Literature circles are where a small group of students read the same book and participate in discussions and activities related to the book. Each member of the literature circle will have a given role that will help facilitate discussions about the books that support our curriculum module content. They will have opportunities to think critically, reflect, show a deeper understanding of the text and apply the literacy skills they are learning in a variety of ways. My students will love the opportunities to be social and interact with their peers when they meet with their literature circle groups.
