Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
At our school, we provide the best quality education for all students. We have a diverse population of English as a Second Language (ESL) students. My school is located in Terrytown, Louisiana. Many of my students are at or below the poverty level.
Most of my English Language learners a have only been in the United States a few months to a year.
My students have a great desire to learn, but our resources are seriously lacking.
I hope that by giving them a safe, attractive, and challenging classroom our students will become more proactive in their education.
My Project
My students have been asking for new books for our classroom library since most of them they read last year. Your generous donations will enhance each child's experience with literacy and help them become a better reader, writer, and thinker.
These books also include concepts dealing with independence, empathy, respect, enthusiasm.
The donations to this project will help my students develop a stronger love of reading. My students are interested in all kinds of books; they love to read about animals and people, also they love to pretend they are in fiction stories they read. The books that I am hoping to add to my classroom library will aid in my attempts to reinforce good character. These books will be used to help students show respect, responsibility, caring, and sharing daily. Having a book on my bookshelf that gives an example and sets an example of these qualities and something that my students can relate to, would be a huge addition to anyone's classroom. These books are engaging and something that students will enjoy listening to and reading as a class and individually.
The character traits that are discussed in these books will help them become better students and someday better citizens. Please help me add these much-needed books into my classroom. These books are something that all students in my school would benefit from
Our classrooms often create lessons that integrate Art with topics like reading, language, social studies.
We also need of a fun and fresh way to learn and review reading skills! Playing reading games would allow my students to see exactly how much fun reading can actually be. The games that I am asking for are both educational and engaging (Hot Dots Reading Informational Text) which is what many of my students are looking for.
