The students in my classroom come from low income families of diverse cultures. I love that my students have a great desire to learn. They are very engaging when they understand the subjects being taught. I love that my students make me laugh throughout the day, that I learn from them and they teach me to be a better person. They are very special because they are very supportive of each other academically and emotionally. They bring to the classroom different perspectives by the way they think about things. They are all unique and come to the classroom with different skills and talents. They are also very conscientious about completing their school work.
The headphones will help them listen to their center work in a quiet environment that promotes learning.
The headphones will also support auditory learners in my classroom. The students in my classroom are from low income families who cannot afford a good quality headphone that is durable and safe to use on a daily basis.
The headphones that are requested will be used for center work and are age and size appropriate for my students.
They have thick headphone pads which will provide comfort since my students listen to their literacy and math centers throughout the day. For example, in math we use Imagine Math or Happy Numbers, in Literacy Lexia and Prodigy for our centers. Having high quality equipment will help our students develop 21st century skills. Learning objectives for students are based on their learning level tier and this equipment will help them meet or exceed in their learning objectives.
