Our school is a Chicago public charter elementary and middle school that opened in August 2012. We provide Montessori instruction to a diverse neighborhood. Over the past 8 years, our school has expanded its grade levels to include everything from a Head Start program to full middle school.
Our charter school is an open enrollment free public school for students living within the Chicago city limits.
It offers an alternative curricular approach to serve the diverse ethnic, socioeconomic, language, and educational backgrounds of students entering elementary school. We believe that the best way of meeting the challenges of our diversity is via a proven educational curriculum committed to community involvement and small student-to-teacher ratios to provide individualized attention.
As we continue in remote learning, teachers are learning to develop curriculum that can be accessed in our new learning platforms. Developing curriculum is a unique art and with guided support, teachers are able to create interactive and supportive lessons that engage and uplift students.
The through use of Teacher Pay Teachers, teachers will have access to quality and rigorous curriculum that they can implement daily with their students.
With these gift cards, teachers will be able to purchase curriculum that will be supportive to all students; as well as continue making our curriculum interactive.
With these gift cards, teachers will be provided targeted lessons that will assist our Diverse Learners, English Language Learners and the general population of students. In addition, we are seeking to purchase curriculum that aligns with our department goals: diversity, access, and rigor. We will continue to purchase African American curriculum for our 8th graders, support our emerging STEM program, provide access to writing and vocabulary curriculum that can be accessed in Google Classroom, and provide innovative curriculum in Civics and Social Studies. With access to Teacher Pay teachers, our department can continue moving forward in remote learning.
Lastly, these gift cards will be used to support our teachers in their lesson planning. They have worked diligently to support students and by providing access to Teacher Pay Teachers, they can continue providing their students daily.
