Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a Kindergarten teacher in East New York, Brooklyn. Over 98% of our children receive free lunch. The new focus of our Region this year is "Literacy in Early Childhood". It's a shame that it took the powers-that-be such a long time to realize that a passion for reading begins with our youngest students. Sadly, while the initiative for literacy is there, the materials are not. I've made many homemade centers over the years, but it would be wonderful if my children could finally have some professionally crafted centers in our room. I would love to purchase Literacy Learning Centers from Lakeshore Learning. These hands-on and colorful centers review the concepts of rhyming words, beginning sounds, letter matching, and so on. They also cover sorting, building, and writing sight words. I hope some kind soul out there can make our classroom even more fun and exciting than it is now! :-) Thank you.
