Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are energetic, creative, and ready for challenges that make learning fun and relevant. They thrive when lessons are hands-on, high-energy, and rooted in real-world connections. Many of them benefit from kinesthetic learning, so we’re taking vocabulary off the worksheet and into the action!

Using the MacGregor Prism Pack of multicolor soccer balls, students will complete vocabulary challenges as they dribble, pass, and move through team-based drills; the Champion Sports Foam Soccer Ball will be used indoors during quieter class times or for small-group mini-challenges; to keep the energy flowing and directions clear, we’ll use a megaphone to guide rotations and keep our Word Ballers focused; the plastic training cones will mark each “literacy zone,”; as students rotate, they’ll use sports-themed stickers to track progress and celebrate wins; and to keep everything organized, we’ll use an extra-large mesh ball bag for equipment storage and easy transport!

These materials will enable us to conduct weekly vocabulary games, unit review challenges, and even grade-level competitions as part of our new classroom initiative, The Literacy League, where reading, writing, and speaking are always in motion.

This is about more than just kicking a ball—this is about building confidence, reinforcing literacy, and engaging students who learn best when their bodies and brains are both activated. With your support, our classroom will be the home court for something fresh, effective, and unforgettable.
