My Students

This year the majority of my students are encountering their first time in a school setting. They are coming from a low-income area of Ohio. They need a lot of one-on-one help, as they are three to five years old, and some with learning disabilities.

My students are very energetic and eager to learn, and they have a lot of fun doing it!

With every lesson taught, the students are expanding their minds. I have many students that will be going on to kindergarten next year, and I plan to have them equipped with all the skills that they need to be successful in their academic career.

My Project

With 100% of my kids coming from poverty, they are at risk for low achieving reading skills.

With these materials, I will be able to close the achievement gap with my Head Start students.

It is hard for me to read regular books to these students, as most of them are 3 years old. With the story telling puppets, I will be able to show them the story rather than just read. Also, my kids like to play on the magnet board, so getting the ABC magnets with pictures, so those materials will also help engage our students in literacy.
