Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

All my preschool students come from a variety of socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. Several languages are spoken in our preschool classroom. Students love to learn new things, while developing acceptance towards personal and cultural differences.

My students ages ranges from 3 to 5 years old.

Some of them received Special Education related services due to delays in certain areas of their development. However, learning opportunities are provided for all since they hold so much potential and are capable of achieving whatever they set their smart brains too.

In addition, a majority of my preschool students qualify for free meals and healthy kids market.

All my students are very active and enthusiastic young learners whose growing bodies need a lot of flexible seating. This will provide them with space to continue developing spacial self-regulation while interacting with other peers during different activities taking place in the classroom.

My Project

My preschool students have utilized our literacy resources to the maximum in our classroom. Most of our literacy materials have begun to show deterioration, and lack of fund to purchase new materials has impacted our resources to meet students interest and different literacy abilities.

Having new literacy resources will allow all my preschool students to continue building new pre-writing and pre-reading skills, that will be needed in a near future when they transition into kindergarten.

In addition, having multi-level literacy resources will allow advanced students to challenge their literacy abilities while playing and interacting individually or in small groups.

Furthermore, all students will be allowed to take home specific literacy resources during the weekend. Family engagement is an essential piece of our preschool program.
