Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My classroom is filled with students who have a variety of different needs. Some students have disabilities, some are learning English, and some have emotional needs. Some of my students simply need to be challenged. They all come to school very eager to learn and bring a lot to the table. My students are a diverse group of learners! My students enjoy hands-on activities, reading diverse books and having fun while learning new things! Thank you in advance for adding to the success of our classroom!

With the materials in this project, we will be able to boost literacy in our community with a community service project!

The TPT gift cards will allow us to make printable books and print them on the paper. We will also laminate activities to go with the books and make little baggies to pass out to others as weekend literacy bags. For this velcro is needed for some games as well as skittles. The students will be able to assist in making the baggies and using them to fill the Little Free Library in our neighborhood. Students can also choose to deliver some to friends and community members. Our hope is that by distributing these book and activity bags we will be able to spread our love of literacy and experience the power of giving.
