Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I work in a school that serves a community with low-income families and where all of my students qualify for free lunches. Pre-K is essential for students to learn literacy and math skills through hands-on activities. My students enjoy learning through developmentally appropriate materials.
My experience as a pre-K classroom teacher has allowed me to enjoy working with this age group because their minds are similar to sponges, absorbing vast knowledge and eager to learn.
My students love to learn letters and numbers. My students appreciate everything that is given to them. They are always eager to learn and play together. It is important for my students to have a successful education.
My Project
My students enjoy hands-on activities where they are learning their letters and numbers using different materials. I enjoy watching their excitement when they recognize their letters and numbers. Due to a low supply of materials and budget cuts it effects my students in learning important skills. I would like these materials in my cart to help foster my students' interest in learning letters and numbers. All of my students enjoy the writing center where they could practice writing their letters and numbers. I would like to foster their creativity, but it is difficult when there is a low supply of materials in the writing center.
Using the materials I have requested will help my students learn letters and numbers in a creative way. I am asking for construction crayons, craft tapes, literacy and math materials to help early literacy and math skills.
With these art supplies, students will be able to be more creative and will not be limited to what they can create at the writing center. As a result, students' early literacy and math skills will improve by using these engaging materials.
