My Project

My students are fierce and unique young children who are curious and adventurous. My little learners are primary children of color who come from low-income families. They all have some type of speech-language impairment, and many are in special classrooms or programs for students with learning disorders.

My students love books!

Many of my students often request books during therapy.

I try to start every session with a book geared toward their therapy goals. For some sessions, books are the focal point of the session. I use books to work on articulation, reading comprehension, phonemic awareness, narrative development, sequencing, and story retelling.
