My students attend an urban low income school. They display a profound eagerness for learning and show up to school daily with smiling faces. All of the students I work with are part of our districts special education program. Some of them are on the autism spectrum and require instruction in basic social skills- such as how to hold a simple conversation- or they may need help with how to solve every day problems. Others need help with grammar and vocabulary- such as how to put a sentence together or finding just the right word to describe how they are feeling. Most of my students are classified as moderately disabled and benefit greatly from speech and language services.
