Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students represent many cultures from around the world. Our school is 100% free lunch and we have a large immigrant and refugee population. My students are highly motivated and highly passionate about STEM. They love hands on experiences and are interested in all things technology and engineering, especially robotics and real world technology. I hope to inspire my students to continue their education in STEM fields and STEM careers by creating a rigorous physical science, engineering, and computer science program where we combine science with creativity.

My Project

Classroom essentials and new STEM books will greatly benefit all of my students. The school supply basics including pencils, rulers, pens, and the pencil sharpener will allow my students to continue focus on physical science and allow for more projects in my classroom.

The Raspberry Pi and Python books will combine literacy into my engineering class and provide a great resource to expand my students' learning as they learn to code.

We will use this resource to develop projects as we integrate project based learning as a capstone project. Many of my junior and senior students are looking ahead to college and career and have a great interest in technology and engineering. These resources will help them learn the basics and grow their knowledge through real world design and coding.
