My Students

I am new to high school this year and am quickly learning about the stressors of performing. Students are expected to pass with high enough scores every semester throughout high school so they have a chance at getting into the college they desire.

Some of my students are overwhelmed by their life stressors but do not have the time or tools to manage these feelings.

As an educator, it is my job to make sure they are successful academically but sometimes we need to take care of their emotional health first.

My students are wonderful, passionate people. They just need help sometimes with managing their emotions, time, projects, work, friends, and family life.

My Project

This training will provide me the necessary information to incorporate a program for students who are experiencing high levels of stress.

Because we listen not just with our ears but with our whole body, therapeutic listening can effectively help my students who have sensory overload.

Our auditory system is connected to all levels of brain function, therefore how we listen can affect our behavior. The therapeutic listening course not only teaches the fundamentals of therapeutic listening and why it works the way it does, but there are also real case studies that show the effectiveness of the program.

Having the training needed to implement therapeutic listening in our school would be a wonderful resource for our students.
