My struggling readers are reading books that aren't age appropriate because they are below grade level. Most of these students haven't caught the reading fever because of this. I want to give my students opportunity to listen and follow along to audio books that will spark the reading fever in them
I am a 4th and 5th grade teacher and I have 26 amazing students that work very hard everyday!
We are a school that has a high population of English Language Learners and many of our students live below the poverty level as well. They are a fun group of kids who are curious and want to do well.
My Project
A collection of audio books would be a welcomed addition to our classroom library. I have many students who are struggling readers, because they are below grade level they are reading books that are not age appropriate. I would love to give them the opportunity to listen and follow along to wonderful books. These audio books would also benefit the other readers in my classroom. Listening to the book gives my students a different perspective and allows them to hear things they might have missed when they read it on their own. These audio books would also help my English language learners
Adding audio books to my classroom collection would be so beneficial for all of my students.
I have high hopes that they will spark the reading fever in my struggling readers and instill the love of literature for all my students.
