My Project

I am a current 4th grade teacher that will be teaching a second and third grade split class. I have very little for teaching this grade level. Many of my kids will be struggling readers and need lots of reading support.

Many of my kids are low income as well as multi-language learners.

Being able to let them listen to books in English will help them to build language skills as well as my struggling readers to build listening comprehension. My students are working to grow as readers and this listening station and books will be a perfect help to have someone read to them when no one at home is able to do this. Using this as a station each week will give them book experiences beyond just the teacher in a small guided group. This will help me to work on closing that achievement gap in so many of our diverse students.
