Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are in a dual language immersion class. They spend half the day in a Spanish class and the rest in an English class. They are students who are highly motivated and strive to excel in their education.
COVID-19 has left them with a gap in their development of their second language.
However, this has not been an excuse and they continue to do their best!
My Project
The headphones I have requested would help my students in many ways. They would have access to the digital library and could listen to a variety of books. I say listen because due to COVID-19 they have experienced a loss in learning and for many, it's impacted their reading in both languages. It would also allow for them to work independently while I provided in-depth help to those who are at risk. I have also requested books that talk about ways to deal with social-emotional issues.
These students have been through so much and have no way to express their emotions or how to deal with them.
These books would a great addition to our daily routine.
