Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Kindergarten is such a growing time for my young English language learners during this at-home learning time. In my Title I elementary school, the families of my students are struggling to connect with me via internet learning. Many families do not have a computer to have their child continue their learning with their class peers.

In our classroom, we are diverse, unique, and caring.

To continue our online learning at home, our classroom is in need of Chromebooks to video chat with their classmates and teacher. Keeping students safe and learning during this time is important to their overall health.

My Project

The listening station will provide my kindergarten students with an independent literacy center option. This will help them navigate the beginning stages of reading development. Our Title I school lacks the technology resources to provide each student with the technology to grow, and this project will give the students just that! The Chromebook will allow students to navigate through the read-aloud. The organizational station will create an independent workspace for students to grab their materials on their own.

This donation to my classroom will assist my students' learning as they follow along with a book during the interactive read-aloud.

With this listening center, my students will have the opportunity to navigate through books independently. This support means so much to my students and me! Thank you for reading about our kindergarten journey!
