Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students need headphones to receive their accommodations but hate wearing big clunky sets that pinch their heads and make it hard to concentrate! They will be able to concentrate better with ear-bud headphones and perform better on their tests.

My students are seventh and eighth graders with special needs ranging from Autism, emotional handicaps, cognitive impairments to ADHD.

Our school is a science, technology, engineering and mathematics magnet effectively serving students who live in high poverty households. Ninety percent of our students receive free or reduced lunch. Through innovative programs, we are showing some of the most rapid growth in the state as measured by standardized test score improvement.

My Project

I am requesting 20 sets of ear-bud headphones in various colors for my students to choose from when they need headphones for their testing accommodations. By providing multiple colors, choosing their favorite will serve as an incentive and help them want to use them.

My students learn best through listening and perform best on tests when they can have it read aloud to them.

These headphones will help them do their best on all of their computerized tests!
