My Students

My students are a very technologically savvy group of kindergartners. In our classroom, we integrate technology use into our learning daily. My students love to use the Chromebook and access their learning content in a different way. At this point in the year, they are able to log themselves on to the Chromebook and plug in their headphones without assistance. Unfortunately, not every student is able to plug in headphones because we don't have enough for them all to use.

My Project

Currently, we do not have enough headphones in our classroom for all of my students to effectively use our Chromebooks as a learning tool. Headphones are necessary to have in a classroom with 26 Kindergartners while working on the Chromebooks.

As a Title 1 school, many of my students' families do not have the income to purchase headphones.

Also, this summer, some of my students were affected by the Carr Fire in our area. Some of these students had to evacuate their homes and may have lost essentials and are unable to buy supplies for school. I would like to provide my wonderful group of kiddos with equal access to learning materials. My students would be in heaven if they could all wear headphones, some are disappointed when they are not one of the 7 students who can have a set of headphones to use. This is a way we can ensure they all have the opportunity to successfully be engaged and learning with their Chromebooks.
