This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Imagine having to learn a whole new language! My students left everything behind and are new to this country. Your contribution will go towards providing these 7th graders with the opportunity to learn English in fun and engaging ways.

My 7th graders range from new comers to children who have been in the country a maximum of three years.

They live in a high poverty high crime area. Budget cuts have left our classroom with great need. Many items necessary to facilitate instruction to a variety of learning styles are out of our reach.

My Project

My students' future depends on how well they learn English. The materials that I am asking for will motivate them to learn English and aquire a rich vocabulary. Furthermore, The materials will facilitate instruction to a variety of learning styles. Auditory learners will be able to read along in the listening center we will be able to set up with your help. visual learners will be engaged through pictures from our new science read along books. And tactile learners will be able to manipulate, sort, and classify while learning with fun vocabulary building games. I've also asked for some math manipulatives that will help my students catch up to their main stream counterparts.

These material will be used everyday by the students. We will be able to build reading fluency, build vocabulary, and manipulate materials. Your contribution will make a difference that will last a lifetime.
