My students need a listening center to experience a variety of styles of music in a small group setting.

My Students

My kids have not had the opportunity to experience much in the music classroom besides singing. They love giving concerts and always sing their hearts out. We are becoming more diverse as children are coming in, from other countries, to our area.

My students love to have fun while learning.

I want them to experience a wide variety of musical instruments and styles.

There is much talent to uncover, and my students would benefit greatly from new instruments they've never experienced before.

My Project

I would love to expose my music students to a variety of music genres and styles in small group center time. Being in a small group with their classmates will allow them to be able to listen and then talk about what they heard together. Keeping the groups small in a center is an ideal way to make sure everyone can contribute the discussion about the great music they will hear. Also many books are set to music and this will allow them to hear those stories more often when it's part of our center time. I want my young musicians to experience all types of music.
