My students need a listening center during our Daily 5 time. My students need 4 CD players with headphones, along with books on CD to use at this station.

This quote sums up my belief that reading is the greatest gift! Books are gifts that can help children to hope, dream and love.
My 2nd grade students consist of a variety of learners with many different needs.
The students at our school are eager to learn, are hard workers and are full of smiles. Our elementary school consists of preschool through third grade students with 35% percent receiving free and reduced-price lunch. We are a growing elementary school with many wonderful staff members and students who are excited to work together for future generations of success.
My Project
With a listening center and headphone set, my students will blossom. They will be able to have books read to them on CD (Classic Read Aloud Books, Just Imagine Book and Laugh Out Loud Book Set). They will be able to learn new ideas and gain a greater understanding and love of reading. Daily 5 is a huge part of our 2nd grade classroom. One of the key components of daily 5 is having students work at a listening center. We have not been able to have a listening center in our classroom and I would love for my students to be able to engage in their valuable hands-on experience.
The listening center, along with the books on CD will bring my 2nd graders many hands-on experiences.
These wonderful tools will help my students grow in so many ways. They will help them to become better readers and enjoy reading books in a variety of ways.
