Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is located in an inner-city area of Chicago, where gentrification is rapidly transforming the neighborhood and the demographic of our school. Many of my students are "dreamers," hoping for a better opportunity while living in the fear and uncertainty of their family's fate. I want my classroom to be a place where they feel confident and reassured.

As English language learners, some with special needs, technology is extremely important in meeting the wide range of language and learning needs of my students.

In my classroom, technology is crucial in content delivery, data tracking, and in ensuring my students' learning modalities are considered and accommodated.

My Project

These audio-sharing headphones with built in microphone will give my diverse learners audio access to videos and grade level books that may not be at their independent reading level. They also provide a microphone for students that are struggling writers to audio record their responses.

My students will have more opportunities to read and work together with these headphones' audio sharing capabilities.

My students will be able to read/listen to a story together, during think-pair-share activities and buddy reading. English language learners will also be able to enrich their learning by watching videos and accessing content in their native language.
