My Students

My students are curious children who love to explore everything around them in their world. They come from all different backgrounds, many of them not knowing english. Some of them can not sit still in a regular school chair. Our school tries its best to provide everything a child needs. But, we need your help!

At YE Smith elementary, we strive to give every child a chance to learn in their own way.

Whether it is to give extra intervention time, bring in volunteers or anything else, we make it happen. These child deserve the chance to succeed.

My Project

These audio books will help increase the students reading skills and listening comprehension skills. During center time, two students can be sitting at the listening center, listening to a book that was introduced earlier in whole group or the story is based on the learning topic for the week.. After listening to the book, the students can answer questions about the story. The students can also point out certain high frequency words while listening to the story.

Looking at a text and hearing the words will help increase high frequency word recognition.

These audio books will be a tremendous help to the students learning. It will be a great addition to the literacy centers.
