This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Technology is used daily in my classroom. It allows me to pull more small groups while the rest of the class are using their Chromebooks. My students visit educational websites, listen to stories read to them, watch prerecorded videos of myself reteaching past lessons, and access lessons tailored to them on their Chromebooks. My English Language Learners, who struggle to type or write in English, are able to record themselves responding to questions orally with the use of Chromebooks built in microphone. Unfortunately, the sound of twenty-two laptops producing sounds all at once makes for a very distracting classroom, and makes it difficult for me to understand the recorded oral responses.

Having a class set of headphones with built in microphones will allow for flexible learning, providing students with the opportunity to work alone and to collaborate as a group.

By donating towards this project, you will help to improve the noise level in our classroom, creating a quieter and focused learning environment. Students will be able to use their Chromebooks respectfully by not distracting their classmates with additional noise.
