My students want to work hard in class and they try their best to stay focused, but when hunger strikes it becomes difficult to concentrate. Our lunch time is not until 1pm and breakfast was served at 8:40am. Unfortunately, not all of their families have the financial means to provide a snack for their child to bring to class. I started bringing some snacks for them, but the cost is quickly adding up. By providing snacks to my students they will be able to focus on their work instead of their growling tummies. My students will be able to read silently for longer periods of time while they have their morning snack. We won't lose valuable learning time from children stopping class to ask again, "When's lunch?"
