Listen Up! Help Us Get a Classroom Listening Center

Help me give my students the supplies we need to have a successful classroom listening center! We need the player to play our many books on CD and tape, and we also need enough headphones for each student.

My Students

I have a classroom full of eager, high energy students who love to learn in a stimulating environment. I have tried to fill our classroom with plenty of exposure to literature. We have hundreds of books, magazines, games, and so much more that we use daily to enrich our learning.

My students LOVE to be read to, but there isn't always time for me to read to them as often as they and I would like.

They have loved using our classroom listening center to listen to books read to them every day while I am working with small groups.

It has been a joy to watch them smile and learn new things from the books in our listening center.

My Project

During a regular school day, my students used to visit the listening center almost daily. This gave them an opportunity to listen and follow along as a book was read to them. I have personally purchased 50+ books on tape/CD for them to listen to.

Unfortunately, our classroom boom box continually breaks and is finally beyond repair.

Our students purchase an inexpensive pair of headphones when they enter kindergarten. These sets are meant to last for 5 years. They are constantly breaking and have ruined our classroom listening center because they break off in the headphone jack and damage it.

We would love the chance to get a new listening center and a classroom set of DURABLE headphones. They would be used and enjoyed by so many students this year and every year.
