During a regular school day, my students used to visit the listening center almost daily. This gave them an opportunity to listen and follow along as a book was read to them. I have personally purchased 50+ books on tape/CD for them to listen to. Unfortunately, our classroom boom box continually breaks and is finally beyond repair. Our students purchase an inexpensive pair of headphones when they enter kindergarten. These sets are meant to last for 5 years. They are constantly breaking and have ruined our classroom listening center because they break off in the headphone jack and damage it. We would love the chance to get a new listening center and a classroom set of DURABLE headphones. They would be used and enjoyed by so many students this year and every year.
